ADG Architects can take on the legal role of Principal Designer under the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015, on commercial projects, if clients wish.
Working closely together, our Architects and Health and Safety Consultant take control of the project at the pre-construction phase to manage risks to health and safety throughout the lifetime of a project. We then liaise with the main contractor on health and safety and collate a health and safety file which remains with the new building.
As Principal Designer we retain liability for the health and safety aspects of a building until it is demolished. As a result we maintain high levels of professional indemnity insurance, while our Health and Safety Consultant Phil Jones is very experienced and highly qualified, as a Member of the Association of Project Safety and a Technical Member of IOSH (Institution of Occupational Safety and Health).
